2005 GRAN ELIAS MORA
"This red has an iron grip now, but there's impressive concentration, and once the tannins release, it shows rich cassis, coffee, anise and tar notes that unfold on the finish. Great density and balance. Best after 2009. 830 cases made." -95 points Wine Spectator
This wine also scored 93 points from Jay Miller of the Wine Advocate and 93 from Josh Raynolds of the International Wine Cellar.

2006 SANSONNET LA RESERVE
Chateau Sansonnet uses Stephane Derenoncourt as their consulting winemaker, a person who is in high demand in Bordeaux and as works at these estates: La Mondotte, Pavie-Macquin, Smith Haut Lafitte, Canon La Gaffeliere, etc. Derenoncourt's hard work is appreciated worldwide, as he has recently started consulting for Rubicon in California, the top flight wine from Francis Ford Coppola's Estate.
In 2004, Jancis Robinson wrote a glowing piece on Derenoncourt and his work in Bordeaux. Derenoncourt learned about winemaking while working in the vineyards on the Right Bank during the 1980s ('82 being his first vintage in Bordeaux). He then started working at Chateau Pavie Macquin and his wines were drawing attention to the estate. After that, Derenoncourt had a pivotal meeting with Comte Stephan Von Neipperg, who wanted him to come and work for his estates (La Gaffeliere and La Mondotte among them). From then on out he's been in high demand and works at many exclusive chateaux around Bordeaux.

His influence is undeniable for it's elegance, power, balance and complexity, while still maintaining it's St. Emilion roots. 90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. I was lucky enough to blend this with Stephan and the effort is easily one of the best of all the La Reserves, this is a must own." -Gary Vaynerchuk
